This weird phenomena happened to me more than once yesterday when I was mixing at home, and 22+ mins in my mix. I thought you guys could help me out.

EDIT: My system is fine too, while I mix, nothing stops or stutters. It's when I play back my own recording it stutters.

Here is a link to the stutter.

Sounds like a problem with your sound card. Are you recording right off of your laptop's internal card?

Also, what is your buffer size set to? You might try raising it.
Turn off screen savers and wifi too.

Alternatively, check out the Torq forums at www.torq-dj.com/forum

They're usually pretty good about troubleshooting there.

try using a recording program that takes up less system resources? i had problems with my old computer- when i used soundforge (which is kinda a resource hog) to record it would do the same thing, so i used the less-resource-intensive creative recorder (came with my external soundcard) to record instead. problem solved. i'd still use soundforge for any post-editing though.

I think it maybe the disk space thing.. when I checked i only had 1gb+ left.

BTW, since I have you guys here, how the freakin hell do I set up headphones so I can hear my cued track?

Yea, sorry for the noob question.

I used to have the SAME PROBLEM before I upgraded to the Xpionent and full torq. Are you using torq's built in record option? If so, it is a known bug. Do you have a Mac or a PC? I reccommend using a third party app to record, thats what I did, I use WireTap Studio Pro on my mac, works great!!!

Yeah. On that note, I use Audacity which is free and works great.

You just need to press the headphone cue button on the correct track and make sure all the eq's are up and the volume down. And for the stuttering I just had to change the settings on the quality.
