It'd seem as though we've both made up our minds, actually.
I'm not, however, "too ignorant to understand" other people's arguments.
In my defense to your accusations: I'm well educated, I've read plenty of books, and I'm relatively confident that I've seen more of the world than you have - including much of the Middle East (that's the part of the world where you see all of the horrible things happening on CNN- and never the positive things)
The majority of voters voted for "hope" and "change" last year, and not for a strong presidential candidate.
I'll be the first to admit that I hope I'm proven wrong, however.
Seems as though there will be some obstacles to overcome early on:

That's not really a racist viewpoint, and he's actually right. Being happy that Obama is president simply for the fact that he's black is ing retarded and everything against the principles guys like MLK wanted to instill in all of us. The only thing that should matter is whether or not he's the best man for the job. So I get annoyed when every time Obama is mentioned, his race is mentioned as well.
It's good that there's a general feeling of 'hope' and optimism amongst the masses, but at the same time if you don't recognize the element of gimmickry involved then you need to wake up. I voted Obama btw, and I'm not a Democrat, so I'm not just having a go for no reason here. The groupthink going on right not is at obscenely high levels and I just had to comment on it. |

Thing is, I haven't seen a single person who is happy "simply" because he's black; that's merely a part of the equation. |
