Althought if someone else wants to chime-in, that's fine too. I just figured Jeff would know best.
If I'm taking a girl to the NSO on the 7th (February), and I want to hit up a decent, but not over-the-top, restaurant beforehand. What are my choices in the area, or within 20 mins driving? Maybe somewhere in Georgetown?
We were gonna go somewhere in Baltimore and then jet down for the performance, but I figured I do enough of that as it is and really don't spend as much time in DC as I should.
Looking to spend around $100 with a couple of drinks each. (so $30 a piece for dinner).
Holla at me. |

Haha, I haven't hit up many places at that price tag, but Georgetown is probably a good place to start, and is close to the Kennedy Center (is that where you're headed?)
Kinkead's has a good reputation, and is real close to Kennedy.

It looks like that hits your price range about right.
I've been to Paparazzi in Georgetown a few times - it's a bit more moderately priced, but quite good Italian food.

Sequoia is more contemporary cuisine, and is pretty good - along the Georgetown waterfront (could probably walk to Kennedy Center).

Right next door, and really good seafood at Tony and Joe's:

If none of those look real good my roommate probably knows some more. |

lol, now now.
i just asked her. she works here. unusually timid and i've seen her around but never really chatted. i went out to lunch with some co-workers and she got invited along too.
we spent our whole lunchtime talking about music. i mentioned the NSO, her ears perked up, so i asked her if she'd like to go to a show with me once my play is over with (the weekend before). she agreed and i told her i'd like to do dinner beforehand, she also agreed.
now i'm trying to figure out where i want to take her since i don't know the area so well. but i'm a planner like that, i want everything figured out beforehand so i'm not driving aimlessly around Georgetown trying to pick a spot out on a saturday (the wait will be killer too). i figure i'll know what i want to do and make the reservations now for 6ish, should get out in time to get to the Kennedy Center for the 8 pm show. |
