I think they made a mistake by not casting actors and instead getting real locals for the movie. I also point out that basement scene as a bad acting part. and clint's voice was annoying throughout.
other than that it was an epic movie. Slumdog is way better, but that movie is hard to beat. |

I haven't seen the movie. I'm sure its decent but just from watching the ad on tv I think I can put together the basic plot...
Clint plays the same character in all his movies, an old get off my lawn kinda guy. He keeps to himself but you can tell deep inside he's got a heart of gold. Some locals bully a neighbor/acquittance of his. Clint stands up against the bullies. A confrontation ensues in which he defeats these young punks even though he is out numbered. Clint in his dieing last breath tells the kid he saved in his raspy voice, 'get out of here'. The neighborhood is safe once again. The movie ends and we walk out of theater, eyes moist, fighting back the tears.
So am I right? |

This movie is enlightening to those who know nothing about the hmong people and how they came to America.
Clint Eastwood's performance reminds me of my grandfather who isn't here anymore. It was like watching a piece of him living on the screen.
The movie is also an emotional roller coaster where the individual has a chance to feel anger, sadness, and laugh.
This has to be one of the best movies I have seen in a long time and for Clint Eastwood to have produced it only intrigued me more to see what else the man has done.
Sure enough Clint Eastwood did have to bury his own wife which after seeing this movie I was impacted even more at what the movie opens up with. |

| everyones acting was horrible, it was like one of those cheap sci fi movie acters from the 90's, clint barely saved the movie. the storyline was good though. |
