| It's not your fault. I forgot to mention that you also need to modulate the width so please stick with the single square osc but modulate the width using envelops, or an LFO. |

Alright, I can hear how an LFO to modulate the PW would replace the pitch mod I'd guessed at.
But that's just garnish. It still sounds squarey, video-gamey. The core texture isn't really getting closer. |

/edit: Just realised there are two different synths in your post. This is for the first sound.
Take two saw oscs, mix them so that roughly only 15% of osc 2 is heard. Transpose osc 2 +1 octave. Modulate both oscillators pitch by aproximately 10-20 cent using an lfo set to a medium-high rate (5-10Hz). Add chorus, and eq, delay, reverb to taste. |

Got a new one , Im sure this is much closer to Fast Distance's.

BUT somehow ... i still feel that something is missing... |

It sounds very good, but not all that close to the original. Too much phasey sounds, could be detuning or phase or unison or ... I dunno. stuff. Not 'pure enough' sounding.
I dont know why I'm so into this lil puzzle exercise, hehe.... I tried one more time, and I think I got sorta close to the original.
And not really thick enough sounding either, but I didn't do any EQing. Sample, and screenshot.
Eldritch, I tried your method. Two waveforms sounded wrong to me. Even with a second one volumed down, it didn't seem to want to blend with the first. Maybe its just my synth but it sounded like two waveforms no matter what I monkey business I tried. Too bad, because adding a waveform on top is usually my first try when I'm looking to add thickness... I stuck with one osc.
For that, I also tried chorus, but that introduced a lot of phasey sound. Maybe I coulda tweaked it a little to reduce that, but in the end I didn't get any improvement via chorus.
In the big picture, it seemed like a lot of what makes that honking resonant quality is (surprise) getting the filter(s?) cutoff & resonance just right. It was harder than I thought. Real finicky.
The wavering I hear is either LFO->Pitch mod, or it could be LFO->PWM as spolitta suggested. I used pitch mod on the example.
The attack sounded harsh, so I tried throwing on a filter envelope to sweep it up real quick. Also tried pitch envelope, but that wasn't working out. Despite my efforts, the attack still sounds harsh to me. =op
OOG, ok, enough emulating other peoples synths for me... But I'd be really interested to see if anyone can refine this/correct it further. Its weird, cuz I feel like I've heard this synth sound a gajillion times. Is this a preset somewhere? |

Yeah its funny how this sound is made..
Still cant get the sound , like you said , it sounds kinda phasy , detuning and such , but im sure its just 2 sawtooths playing.. Argh .. |

You're doing it wrong. 90% of the sound comes from the LFO modulated saw osc. I simply put the second in there to add some overtones, but it's not necessary. Ignore everything else, get the pitch mod right first. |

You talking about a slow pitch mod, like a vibrato sound? I've got that, and it sounds accurate to the source. Or are you talking a fast LFO such that it changes the texture entirely?
I looked again, and either you're full of it, or you're not explaining very well! |

It's a v-station patch midi. Not an actual midi file. Import it in the global panel. |
