Krk rokit rp5 g2's hiss??

Just bought some rp5 today, i've noticed a hiss from the speakers when up close to them.
I unplugged the leads from my pc and still get the hiss.
I've got a set of alesis mkII and I can't hear anywhere near as much hiss.
Anybody experience the same with there's?
Can anybody else test there krks and see if they are the same?

I just got a pair of rp8 G2s.
One has a hiss so loud I have to take it back, its not just his but its crackling and popping.
The other has a more subtle hiss but still not very good for a pair of speakers in its price range. |

| I've got a very slight hiss from the tweeter on the left speaker. |

I had the major hiss issue with one that is being returned as soon as i get a chance, but the other speaker seems to have developed a hiss (was dead quiet when i got it).
I haven't even had it on more than 30 minutes in total... wtf?
Are most studio monitors dead quiet when there is no input and the power is on? |

I would think so. My ADAM A7's are practically dead quiet. You can hear a faint hiss if you put your ear up to the tweeter though. But it's not something you can hear at normal mix position. |

| my krk rokit6 are fine i do not here any hiss unless like eldritch you put your ear right up to it. |

Took them back and compared to another set ( rp8's i think), and they were the same.
Must be my bat like hearing lol!
So all sorted now! great monitors as well but might upgrade to the 8's lol!! |

I was going to get the KRK's! I don't think i should get the KRKs now because of that hiss thing your telling us about!:( |

i just noticed something about the "hiss", at least on mine
It's only present when my lamp is on, so i suppose it could be some sort of electrical interference - not that i know a lot about that. |
