Friday January 30th 2009
Atlanta, GA

Featuring a very special extended set from soulful house legend

KING BRITT
(five six media, philly)

King Britt is a pioneer of all things soulful, rhythmically textured and melodically provocative. This Philadelphia native has found a way to escape the strictures of a single category of music by expressing his creations through deep house, hip-hop, broken beat, nu-jazz, funk and afro-tech. Whether it’s film scoring for Hollywood, rocking a dancefloor in Tokyo or consulting for the leading urban lifestyle brands, there are no limits to what King Britt will do next. As a remix producer, King has flipped and funked everyone from Macy Gray and Tori Amos to Yoko Ono and Femi Kuti. His remix of breakthrough artist Josh One’s “Contemplation (5.1 Entertainment)” was nominated for the Dancestar Remix of the Year award, alongside remixes by Danny Tenaglia and Basement Jaxx. Within the last year he has completed remixes for the likes of Curtis Mayfiled, The Ojays, Gamble and Huff, Ben Watt, Dizzie Gilespie, Everything but the Girl and Digable Planets. Please welcome this Legend back to Atlanta for an intimate night of house music!

KEVIN O. (tbc)

Very very good deep house. If I was in the mood to go out friday I'd be there with bells on.

it was ok, some of his stuff he spun was nice but he had like a 20-30 salsa session that made me want to toss my cookies. I mean If I wanted to go to Loca Luna I would have gone to loca Luna. I wanted deep and soulful house, so I went to see King Britt.

Nice table to spin on, much nicer then what they usually have in there. The extra sound, was well not placed very well so. With such a small venue the extra Mackies were right in your face. Sound was good if you were not in front of the dj booth. Don't really know how that could have been done better so I guess I can't complain about it. But I will any way ;)

I had this gut feeling he'd be all over the place, so I stayed in. Guess I'm glad I did ;)
