Dear Residents of Toronto.
You live in a city. Within reason, there will be noise. When choosing to live in an area that has a number of restaurants, bars, cafes close by, there will be slightly more noise.
If you do not like this, there are a number of quiet neighborhoods within the city that you are able to move to. I have lived in three different areas of Toronto, and have never had a noise issue - so it's not like these are hidden gems that are difficult to find.
Failing that, the Suburbs of Mississauga, Oakville, etc are not that far of a commute away and will allow you to live in a dome of silence.
---------
While I have slightly more sympathy for owners who own their property, and have been long-standing owners in areas that exploded in a short period of time, I have far less sympathy for renters, especially ones that moved into these areas recently. |

Do you honestly think places like Mississauga and Oakville are quiet?
If you want quiet then you need to move to Cambellville, Acton, Georgetown, and Milton.
Heck, I live in Milton and all night long I hear cars zooming down the street. |

| Haven't spent that much time in Oakville, but from the few days I spent there - was very quiet compared to Toronto. I could actually hear crickets chirp in his backyard at night. Biking around the City was eerily quiet also. Hardly any cars on the roads, even less people. The biggest noise pollution was his neighbor mowing the lawn. |

Funny thing is, eventually i got used to it and when i moved i had problems sleeping with out that sound. :p |
