Recommend me: Sitars

I love the sitar. It's a great instrument with a great sound. I know it can be a bit of a cliche for psychedelic or, more patronisingly, "Eastern" moods, but I still really enjoy hearing it.

I'm not particularly after Indian classical music because that might be a bit much for me (although I would like to get into it), but anything electronic, ambient or film-scorish with sitars would be much appreciated. I was watching a BBC nature documentary recently and the score used sitars heavily. Anything in that vein would be great too.

Its not the exact Sitar instrument but sounds better than Sitar.

Do a search for Hidayat Khan... he's a young guy - phenomenally talented with a sitar and enjoys experimenting with it and other styles of music.

Get in touch with him, I'm sure you'll find it productive.

... and then of course, there's Anoushka Shankar, Sitar Goddess and half-sister of Norah Jones.
