a question about tube compressors

on a tube compressor there is no threshold setting, so can someone please tell me how a tube compressor works i.e. at what level it knows to start compressing?

i know hardware tube compressors do have threshold control.

about t-racks....i think you can find the answer in the manual.

Errr, I hope you realise that T-Racks isn't a tube compressor....

Anyway, if it doesn't have threshhold it might have input gain. Which can be used the same way.

No, its software. Its An emulation of a tube compressor

its really just a limiter isnt it? + adding some softwarish warmth (how terrible doesnt that sound???)

Andy, the term 'tube compressor' derives from hardware units that use tubes
