| 18 1/2... been playin since 15, been into the music since 10 or 11 - it was different back then - trance was actually 'trance' (as in psy trance & goa)... these days trance is classed as anything with a beat and a heap of uncoordinated synths shoved together with a break or two. |

dj fien - the only tip would be practice practice practice... as soon as you get the hang of beatmatching you'll realize the immense problem of cueing (where to, how to tell, phasing in/out and stuff like that)
thats about where i am right now.
its a major pain in the ass, especially when i scratch over the beat (and normally when its an emphatic one) the stylus skips backwards.
i friggin hate that |

I've actually gotten the hang of cueing (or atleast the basics) just simply from taping all my vinyls and listening to them whenever I can, but I still haven't praticed enough (I guess) to get beat matching down.
It may be my turntables (Numark TT-100's), but who knows :) |
