2)Solar Stone-Solar Coaster
3)DJ Sammy & Yanou feat. Do - Heaven (Green Court Remix)

Please post any other similar songs!
Thanx loads:thepirate
Maxim303
peran is cheesey/cluby/commercial trance
check barthezz if you like that kinda stuff..
solar stone is good, proper trance.. look for threads on this board and people sigs for more good tracks like that..
the heaven track is also a bit cheese, although the green court remix does have nice synthwork in it..
burns
Solar Stone - Solar Coaster.......Uplifting Trance

Havent heard the other two...:(
Ocean Wave
My advice is if you listen if you like a track just listen to it, genre classification is only a matter of opinion that nobody will ever agree on...

But anyway, in my opinion:

1) Not heard
2) UK Epic/Melodic trance
3) Hmmm, "Uplifting trance" is probably best for this one!
KilldaDJ
1. never heard
2. uplifting
3. happy/uplifting

Thats a bit of a lame comment considering that most tracks can be catagorized according to their style, i.e.

Hard Trance
Uplifting
Progressive
Goa
Psy
Cheese

Are all easy to distinguish, even if different genres merge into one another.

I would say that Peran - Good Time is uplifting cheese as well :thepirate

Hmm..That makes Rmb music (spring and the likes) cheese?
And is cheese supposed to be bad, lesser or anything?
Sorry about the lame question but the attitude is a bit strange, please enlighten!
greets
Strike
no no
cheese is not bad
cheese is what makes a load of money
it's a matter of opinion whether u like 'cheese' or not

1. kinda cheesy club track
2. uplifting trance
3. the original is omega cheese, but the green court mix..i'll juss hafta classify as borderline cheese
:D

cheese is basically commercial tracks

Cheese is not a genre, there can be "cheese" tracks in almost any genre. Cheese is the overal artistic value a track has when produced with one purpose in mind - to sell as many copies as possible. So it's full of cliches. The structure and drumrolls and bassline and melody type, commonly used sounds that go for immediate effect, no multiple possible interpretations, no multi-layered sounds.
These tracks all mostly have a mellow feel to them, and always appeal somewhat good on first hearings as they are engineered to do so. That's also why they work to some extent quite well in clubs and on raves, because they have a straight to the point attitude, everyone can feel the effects easily, it is bright transparent music and very expressionistic in it's nature. The message it contains is easily understood by everyone for which i believe it has a very important role as a stepstone to more sophisticated music.

Everyone has to admit, by ignoring the consiousness of the low-quality production, when they open themselves to this music and allow themselves to just experience it, the effects of cheese can be quite strong, especially when on E's. Luckily there's more to trance than cheesy trance, but trance would not be complete without cheesy trance IMO.

The strength of cheese lies in the fact that it's simple not complex. Tt's impressionistic and aimed at a very direct form of cummunication through music

I know that cheese can be a good thing and that it covers a wide range of music styles but considering this whole discussion is about trance I am sure that it is fairly obvious that we are on about cheese in trance music...

I think that you can safely distinguish cheese as

1. Poorly made tracks...
2. Overplayed tracks on public radio etc.. Thus sometimes making the song loose its appeal.

Also I take back calling Peran - Good Time cheesey because it's not that bad, although it's not up to someone like M.I.K.E's standard

p.s. Sorry dj Doom Force ! I didn't mean that your question was lame :D I meant that the comment in my quote was lame :clown:
