My first finished project, ever. I hope you all enjoy.

Not really my style, but it's a decent start.

I tend to think you need more extensive effects to make this style work, though. Would also like to see some more rhythmic variation or at least a bit of swing on the percs you have. And I think a thick funky bass could really help drive it along. But maybe that's not the feeling you're after...

What are you using to produce?

Thank you for the feedback MJBJ. As I also said in my local forums I am guilty of aiming for something simple and repetitive. As my first tune ever I really didn't want to get overly ambitious with it and just simply explore the repetitiveness of techno.

I use Buzz.

I found Buzz pretty tough to use personally. Some people swear by it, though. Good luck!

I found it to be the easiest interface I've ever played around with. In less than 30 mins with it I was already making crazy 64 bars loops. What were your problems with it?

The track has a very minimal feel to it. That's not a bad thing - just a note on style.

The mix, so far as being able to hear all the elements, is good. It actually kind of drew me into it, which is cool.

The bassy lead came in a little abruptly.

The clavs/chirpy sound thingy is a little harsh.

@ around 3:15 I was wanting more from the song than I was getting - it was getting a little stale, at that point.

My suggestion is to work on the evolution and/or change of each track. Every track ought to evolve or change, at least, three times. My intent with my own tracks is to be over-the-top but the concept of evolution/change remains the same for whatever style. Change could be one track dropping the frequency of elements while another track increases its intensity. With the style of your track, I would make slow gradual changes, such as lowering the echo on the snare while bring the bass-lead in at a more muted volume and steadily decreasing echo/increasing volume respectively, over time.

You shouldn't feel obliged to do it, exactly that way but it was a simple illustration to get my point across.

Thank you for the insight EddieZilker, I decided I will do a few a justments on it and I'll post up the finished product.
