Here's my 15-minute attempt with my Virus - it's not exact, but it's pretty close. The envelopes are off a bit, I think:

Yeah, that's pretty good. You got the notes and the basic timbre right, but I think the attack is too fast on yours. Also the original has some phasing in it. Yours sounds nice, though. |

Yeah, I agree. The original sounds like it "swells" a bit more than mine does as well, so the decay/sustain on the amp env on mine could use some adjustments as well. Thanks for the compliment.

wow - great job....wish i had a virus...
i will seriously buy a jv 1080 if i can make that sound with it. i want that sound. |

you can find many of them for 250$ on eBay; It's a BARGAIN. I miss my jv1080 too. The modulation section was quite complete for a synth of that kind. |

if not a preset, I can assure you that the waveform is JV/XP/XV. So basically if you get a jv1080 or 2080, an xp50 or 80, or an xv2020, you'll be good. It's 100% roland, and the airy pad is really easy to reproduce.
Well, you have to know how to program synths. I spent years in getting the best out of digital synths such as this one. My favorite is the JD800 alongside with the Trinity From Korg ad god I wish I could afford a second hand unit of those. So, you can be sure that I know what I'm talking about. |
