The wooden enclosure is certainly welcome and it produces a decent bass response for it's price range. I believe they're retailing for under $600 in the US. Other models you can look into are the Yamaha HS-50M / Roland DS-5 or even the Tannoy Reveal 5A. I suggest that prior to purchasing your monitors you shortlist a few brands and models and listen to them at the dealer's place. Don't forget to take along high quality mp3 / wav's of the tracks that you know inside out and try to listen for subtle details that you possibly haven't heard before on normal PA systems. spolitta HR824s?
