Hey guys, howsit goin?
this is my first ever trance track, so i figured what better place to post it up for a lil feedback then here ay? :D
i've been producing other genres for about a year n a half now, but i recently decided to give trance a go n i've been really enjoying it!
anyway i hope you guys all enjoy the track and steer me in the right direction as far as areas that need attention with production and such.

thanks in advance :D

also, is there a section in here about production techniques or a Q&A section or something?

Regards,
Matthew Lyft :)

Cool track, Matthew. This is pretty fantastic for a first shot at trance - I assume that you've at least been listening to a lot of trance, even though you haven't been producing it until now? Anyway, I like the energy in the intro. Some good melodic ideas in here as well. The breakdown seems like it takes a little long to develop, but not too bad.

Regarding the mix/production, the crash seems a little too out front for my taste. Also, the overall level of the track seems a bit hot and sounds like it's clipping. Although, I'm listening on my work computer's harmon/kardon 2.1 speakers - not the best for critical listening.

Overall, a very good track - I wish my first trance tracks were this good!

cheers for the feedback mate. i used to go to a club pretty much every weekend over here that played mainly trance, so i have a little bit of an understanding of what things should work.
yeah the mixdown doesn't quite feel perfect yet, but i'm using my Technics dj1210 headphones as i dont yet have monitors. its a bit of a work in progress as my ears feel like they get tired rather quickly with the cans on.
also i gave the track a rough master through T-racks, so that may be causing it to sound like its clipping a lil as i'm not so great at mastering tbh :P
i'll have a look at the breakdown n the crash like you suggested tho :)

also, can anyone suggest some labels i could try sending the track to? the only trance labels i no of are anunja, armada (and i dont no what the likely-hood of labels that big signing an unknown would be) and amon vision (run by a friend of mine, but the track doesn't really fit in there).

once again, thanks for the feedback and i'm looking forward to gettin more stuff finished to put up here :)
