Eddie B
(Hawt, Philter, UNA - Los Angeles)
_ Eddie Barajas - Eddie has had an obsession with music since his first recollections, buying old 80's and new wave records in thrift stores. Rounding his musical upbringing were his two older brothers introducing their baby brother to all the great bands with "the" as a prefix; Rolling Stones, Doors, Beatles, Who, Pretenders, Clash, Police, amongst others and MTV. His high school years were blessed with the inception of an electronic music station MARS FM and treated to the likes of Swedish Egil, Tony Largo, and others. These shows schooled him in electronic and underground music that would prove to be the foundation for his appreciation of the mighty DJ, and a style of music that he came to know as HOUSE music.
_ Eddie has played along side Derrick Carter, Doc Martin, DJ Heather, Lance Desardi, JT Donaldson, Chuck Daniels, The Littlemen (UK), Special Interest (UK), Fries & Bridges (France, US), Marques Wyatt, Andrew Macari, Diz, Jason Hodges, The Rurals, Slater Hogan/John Larner, amongst many others. Eddie B has been a musical force in Los Angeles for quite some time now, and if you don’t already know him from project HAWT, you may know him as part of a local down-tempo band called UNA. In fact, UNA's LP one made Mediaguide Top Debut for an Unsigned Band and made KCRW 89.9 FM-LA Top 20 and Top Tune of the Day. Eddie is truly a “naturally” talented musician and are excited to have him on our lineup.
You are definitely in for a treat!
Oh and did we mention its a FREE event! |

The music of West Coast DJ, Ricardo Torres can best be described as a blend of deep, soulful house inflected with the particular sound of the west coast vibe, sultry and smooth. He plays the music that house heads love to dance to; confident that when the music flows from hands that love house it can be an uplifting, groovy and sexy experience.
Ricardo has been on this quest ever since his first chance encounter at the turntables, in 1987 at his college radio station. Shortly thereafter in 1988, he was first introduced to house music. Ricardo quickly changed his direction and followed the early days of Chicago Acid House. He moved towards this style of music since he found it to have a new and unfamiliar energy within itself.
In 1995 Ricardo, moved to Los Angeles, a city basking in sunrays and radiating the good vibes he himself perpetuated. And here, Ricardo discovered the funky, soulfulness of the west coast sound. Many of his early hero’s such as Jay-J, Chris Lum, Julius Papp, Mark Farina, and others gave him the desire to gravitate towards this deeper, more soulful West Coast style.
While still a local Los Angeles DJ, Ricardo - inspired by his love for this genre-decided early on in the year 2000 to post his mixes online to share with the world. This act of sharing his musical vision without prejudice or limitations caused him to be sought after to play his brand of house music in cities all over the world. Since then, Ricardo has played in various clubs in Los Angeles, San Francisco, San Diego, Las Vegas, Miami, Montreal, Toronto, Belgrade, and London. And he continues to offer up his masterful mixes, as host of syndicated radio shows online as well as on satellite radio in the USA.
Within the recent past Ricardo has teamed up with a very talented band of Deep House DJ’s called West Coast Collective. He found this to be the perfect collaboration since the members of West Coast Collective share the same passion for the music and maintain the same ideals of the genre. They are committed to bringing exceptional music and a beautiful vibe to the people while honoring the culture of house music. But most of all, Ricardo just loves playing music that inspires the heads to get up and dance! |

Since 2000, Torin has made music trends come alive in the underground house and dance club scenes. He started his career playing numerous gigs in Southern California that helped establish him as a resident DJ in some of the swankiest nightspots. His popularity grew as the crowds came to hear his never-predictable, always-evolving sound.
Like his larger-than-life personality, his music has a growing presence that can adapt to any situation and make it come alive. Torin’s music transcends culture, giving him the ability to entertain audiences worldwide. From California to New York and several states in between….to Canada, Germany and Japan, Torin continues to actualize his pursuit of spreading house music to the masses.
Torin currently lives in Los Angeles and continues to play clubs, produce original music, and provide music consultation for film. His style has now branched into funk, soul, drum and bass, and acid jazz.
