Did anyone see this weeks episode of Big Love?

Carnivale: Yea I know what you mean. I was forced to watch it and it blew me the away. It kills me that it was canceled after Season 2 but those 2 seasons were the best thing to ever grace television. I only wish they finished it because I hate coming up with theories as to what the whole plot would've been if they finished it. The whole thing was written to be 6 seasons apparently.

The Wire: You still have a long way to go, heh. I can't promise that you'll care about everything in it but it gets more engrossing as you progress in the series.

Lost: BSG's biggest weakness is Losts biggest strength. The writers for that show really perfected random plot twists into an art. That, and the character development is unrivaled. The Wire is the only one that compares imo.

As for BSG: One thing that really impressed me was when they revealed (spoiler warning) that Ellen was the 5th, which goes back alllllllll the way to season 1 when Baltar first tested her.

I wonder if they knew who all the Cylons were from the get-go or did they decide on the Final 5 (excluding Ellen) as they went along. I have a hard time believing that they intended to have Tyrol as a Cylon from the get-go.

we'll have to agree to disagree there. i watched lost for 2-3 seasons and in the end i got annoyed at the lack of pace re the plot. when its all finished and wrapped up though i might revisit it on dvd.

oh, and the greatest thing about BSG is the camera work! gets me hard just thinking about it :D

end of story. how has this HBO masterpiece been overlooked so far? best tv show ever made.

HBO has had some great stuff... Deadwood was entertaining, tho incomplete imho. Showtime has had better things recently, but even those have started to tank a bit...

The Wire makes all other shows look foolish|

HBOz all the way.

And as posted above, The Wire is awesome, awesome indeed.

oz is awesome. over the last couple months i watched the whole series on hbo on demand... the gritty/violent tone can be overdone at times but it really gets you thinking about the darker side of human nature and all kinds of sociological issues.. a lot of the characters are well done (yet some of the acting is just terrible)... you find yourself sympathizing for characters that are designed to be pure evil

i just started watching sopranos from the beginning.. not bad so far

summer heights high cracks me up.. especially how the jonah kid pronounces homo "hew-mew"

HBO has consistantly had top programming on air for the past 25 years...

go back to 1983 and The Hitchhiker and Not Necessarily the News and even Fraggle Rock

then bring in 1st and 10, Dream On, Kids in the Hall, and Tales from the Crypt.

Then in the late 90s you had Arli$$, The Sopranos,

now theres Curb, Entourage and other great prgrams..

Showtime has 1 decent show, thats it.

HBO > Showtime

Totally incomplete, I really wish that they could have wrapped it up.

glad to see you back on the HBO bandwagon, Jamie. Big Love is currently the best show playing right now IMO. Everything else is on re-runs. There have been like 6 episodes of this season now though, so maybe wait a couple more weeks until they start showing them all again from the start.

Actually, have you never watched the show before at all? Maybe rent the DVD's if you have time. I'd recommend starting from scratch to get into the characters. This season (3rd one I think) is particularly juicy :toocool:

yea i have and i really liked it a lot. it just started one night after supranos i think and i wasn't gonna watch it but i got suckede in and was really impressed w/ the acting/plot, etc...

the last i watched, the husband was showing an interest in the cute young brunette and the father of chloe' (dont know her character name, but the one whose father is really corrupt and creepy) was dying or sick or something...
