SK002 – CHRIS LUZZ – NEW YORK SLEAZE EP

Pure Substance Records_offshoot label, Shaken Republik is back again with its second release by New York based, DJ and Producer, Chris Luzz. The debut release by Chris on Shaken Republik is sleazy and sexy. When Chris Luzz decided that Electronic Music was his calling, it didn’t take long before he made a name for himself by securing his regular spots at popular joints the likes of Roxy and Exit. Somewhere along the lines of venturing into the forays of production, Chris was recognized for his talents and created his own signature progressive sounds that deserve anything more than just a praise.

Eddy Good – Nice deep stuffs!

Laurent Garnier – I like the 7Am Beer Run mix from Chris Luzz. Will play.

Chris Sterio (Source of Gravity/Gravitation Radio/Events Worldwide) – Nice 3 tracker! 8/10

Smokin Circles – 7AM Beer Run is the one we like here.

Schaamteloos Djs – We say we go for 7AM Beer Run. It’s a great atmospheric track!

Naveen G – Shade Convention is the one for me, great building pads that drive the track and straddle prog and tech. 8/10

Mental X (SOG Records/Mentalx.virus.ch) – I would like to play Real Lies and 7AM Beer Run. First track reminds me on the classic Cosmic Baby – Space track. The second one is a great progressive tune who finds his place in the prime time. All in all, 9 out of 10.

Chloe Harris – Shade Convention is really groovy, great sounds and trippy elements. It really comes together. Great stuff.

Rob Warner – WHOA! Real Lies on this EP is totally rocking. Love it to bits! It’s just so Blade Runner inspired quality tech styles! 7Am Beer Run is also wicked. That is the sort of tune I think of when I think prog. Nice work!

DJ Van (KL,Malaysia) – Awesome tracks mate. 7AM Beer Run is the bomb!

Distant Fragment – 7AM Beer Run sounds very nice. Full support from me.

Ray McPhoney – Playing Shade Convention.

Xaric – I’ll play 7AM Beer Run. This tune is amazing. And Real Lies, nice melodic prog tune.

Joe Sweeney – I like Shade Convention.

dPen – 7AM Beer Run is the one for me!! Really grooving! 8/10

Johan Nilsson (Digitaly Imported) – Nice to see some stuff from our resident Chris Luzz. I really enjoyed the 3 tracks in this EP. I think my favorite is Real Lies but they are really good tracks so it’s hard to decide. Slightly laid back with a wonderful vibe and atmosphere. All tracks will be supported in our Progressive Channel.

Sasha Le Monnier (C.O.U. Muzik/Source of Gravity) – I have to say these didn’t really grab my attention, the best one in this pack is Real Lies for it’s techy vibe!

JD Turbine (Digiprana/90.3FM NYC) – I liked how Real Lies started with a dark vibe but then it turned progressive and stayed there. Overall a good set of productions but I’m not quite into this one so much.

Samer Salhab aka Dj Samer (Evrydaydowners/Pangea) – Not a bad way to start 2009. Chris delivers some pretty good energetic progressive tracks. Nice one. 7.5/10

Arjun Vagale (Jalebee Cartel) – Real Lies is good. Will play for sure.

Jacco@Work (LuPS Records) - Real Lies is an addicted weird kind of acid prog adventure. That bell melody line is ACE. The groove is demanding and headnoding. Good stuff for the pod-smoking clubbers. Will play in my sets. 7AM Beer Run is also a fabulous tune. Swirling pads and arps and lushy 'classic'melodies on a solid deep groove. Inventive combination. Great tune which will be played by me also. Shade Convention is again also a wicked piece of work. It has a similiar kind of feel as 7AM Beer Run but it just sound more towards the old school Detroit techno of Juan Atkins, Kevin Saunderson and Derrick May. Really dig this tune. What I do like the most of all tracks is the sleazy groove and low bpm range. Despite the low bpm the tracks are really powerful. Really well produced as well. So overall a rock solid release_of which you can_be proud of. I will keep a close eye on Chris Luzz in the near future. Talented guy.

Hisham Zahran – Supporting.

Ariel Cybana – Has some pretty and lush melodies in it. Defo a producer to watch out for.

Carlos Antelo aka Southmen (Yooshi) – Shade Convention: great drive and progression. In my box.

Stefan Bauer (Progressive-World.at) – I really like Real Lies and will play that!
