Greater China (simplified Chinese: 大中华地区; traditional Chinese: 大中華地區; pinyin: Dà Zh╛nghuá Dìqū) is a term use to refer to commercial ties, cultural interactions, and prospects for political unification among ethnic Chinese. As a "phrase of the moment", the precise meaning is not entirely clear, and people may use it for only the commercial ties, only the cultural actions, or only the political prospects, while others may use it for some combination of three. Usage of the term may also vary as to the geographic regions it is meant to imply. The most common geographic uses, particularly in Hong Kong, include those areas claimed by the People's Republic of China (PRC). Other usages include Singapore and still others include overseas Chinese living anywhere in the world.-exerp from wiki that sources these;

A text list of what you are currently wearing is ing boring. Names alone don't make something good.

that wasn't my point. You got the wrong person buddy, I don't buy fakes. Great and very mature generalization that all people who live in 'Chinese regions' of the world "should" have fakes. Maybe if you weren't such a dipshit you would know that it's illegal to sell fakes here in Singapore. Try going here sometime. Who the hell calls Singapore 'Greater China' anyway?

An honest question for you though: If you had the choice of buying either real designer label stuff, or a fake that looked the same and was of roughly the same quality, which would you buy? How important are 'labels' to you?

Depends on the price of the fake and the original. My logic is that if there's barely any difference, (this also depends from person to person) then I'd rather buy the original.

Labels just make me think "oh how cool if I could have that ____ shirt/pants/shoes/watch etc" Gives people added (doesn't mean people who buy these have low self esteem) confidence because you know that you're wearing something highly renowned/respected and of high quality.

Why do people buy Ferraris when they can just buy Toyotas?

Sorry, I should have specified a price difference too. Fakes are rarely the same price as the legitimate stuff though - That's the appeal.

And yet, so many of the designer labeled stuff is not of better quality than regular 'no-name' clothing. Not all the time, sure, but certainly often.

You're paying for brand. The 'cool factor' or what ever you want to call it. And, you're paying them money for them to advertise on you :p
