| Man I wish I was as cool as the rest of you guys who've completely blocked out the outside world and never heard of "Chris Brown", and I loathe mainstream music and barely listen to top 40 radio stations. Jesus Christ. |

I love how, just because people might not've heard of somebody who is relatively less famous than a lot of other artists, they get slammed because people automatically assume that they have some form of elitism.

LOL. Why did everybody assume I don't listen to popular radio because I want to be "elite?" Could it be that I just don't like it? What a concept!
 |

Thing is, I know plenty of people who only listen to MTV/Top 40/etc., and a couple of them didn't even know who Chris Brown was. They must be trying to be better than everyone else, too. |

So you're saying that asking "Who is chris brown" instead of googlin him, if you really don't know who he is, or instead of just stfu'ing if you really don't care, is not showing off how cool you are for not giving about mainstream? |

Those are just "morons" as you say, simply for the reason that one should know his/hers music.
Your irony doesn't really work. |

I am, yes. I really don't see the harm in asking on a forum who somebody is, do you? |

How so? Is Chris Brown in every single song out there? If not, then why should they know who he is if they haven't heard him before? People can "know [their] music" without knowing who Chris ing Brown is. In addition, most people aren't as avid/attentive music followers as you and I, so to expect people to go digging into everything is a fallacy. |
