I'm back from the hospital where I have been since Monday morning. OP was a success and the bad kidney is now gone. I now have 5 holes and a bunch of stitches on my stomach. :D

Glad to hear you're on the mend. Don't know if you remember a few years back I had problems with my kidneys. Started as a urinary tract infection, then bladder infection, then kidney infection then problems with my liver.
Are you on any donor waiting list to get another kidney? |

The actual decision to finally remove the kidney (after trying other solutions) was made in October. So I had to wait about 4 months. I wasn't in any real pain and it wasn't life threatening in any way so I wasn't prioritized hence the waiting time and it didn't really matter for me. I got some pain for short amount of time (some hours) sometime, but that's it after the initial infections. The downside of "free"/taxpaid healthcare I guess.
I'm so glad it's soon completely over. |

| Damn man, that sucks. Nothing to worry about as long as the other is working fine. I was born with only 1 kidney and i've been okay thus far (knock on wood)! |
