I want to share this with you guys and if you have a pet story to share, please do so!
I think the cat that I've been feeding and letting sleep with me is a Ragdoll! This cat is the sweetest cat I've ever encountered! His meow is soft, he is very loveable, always wants my attention, and loves being carried. Before capturing him (he seemed kinda freaked out, traumatized) I noticed how he kept craving for attention from the other cats I was feeding and how he seemed so affectionate towards them. People couldn't get near him. After a few weeks of trying to get him, I decided just to be patient and ignore him.
The day finally came when he was near my back door and I grab him by the back of his neck! I only held him for a very short time but made sure that I scratched his little head and petted him. After a few days, he wouldn't leave me alone! He's always throwing himself at my feet! He is so adorable! Now I need to get him neutered! He's about 7 or 8 months old now.
BTW... cats do have emotions. My cat of 15 yrs, gives me a sorta pfffft look when I'm playing with the other cat. |

I'll come out and say that it looks like a cross between a Ragdoll and a Tonkinese. Which is somewhat popular...
Why?
From that pic the eyes appear to have a green tit to them...aqua eyes. It could be the lighting in the pic causing it, I dunno, but if it's not a pure solid blue then that's a sign of Tonkinese. Only cat breed tha has aqua eyes. Blue at birth then changes color...a green tint comes in...the intensity of the green varies though.
Although Ragdolls typically have a lot more fur than that, Tonkinese cats are usually pretty muscular and lean and have a rather smooth coat. But he could just have a nice winter coat since it's been outdoors. But I think it's because it's a mix between the two so it's right in the middle. :p
How heavy is it? If a Ragdoll, would be like 15+lb probably. If a tonkinese,around 10lb or so. If crossed, I dunno...guess this quesiton is useless.
Tonkinese is my 2nd fav kind of cat. My fav is just a plain old black domestic cat...what I hve now. Had two, but had to put one to sleep last year. :( Know about cats a bit because my parents bread them for like five years when I was younger....was forced to go to cat shows...hehe. Ragdolls were always real furry why I liked the Tonkinese over them. In that color, they look very similar outside of the body sidze and it's coat. |
