Progressive Songs w/ good melodies

I pretty much listen to a lot of PvD and Tiesto style trance (like most of you) and am not very familiar w/ anything else.
I don't really know much about progressive or have heard many songs that have impressed me. I find a lot of the songs a bit a dull, but am interested in hearing some sweet sounding progressive that does'nt bore. Here's some songs that kinda give an idea what of I'm looking for:
MrE - The Deep Edge, Red Devil - Gamelan, Jark Prongo - Onix 1, Chimera - Just Wanna Do My Thing, Christan Smith & John Selway - Move!, Layo & Bushwacka - Love Story, Sander Kleineberg - My Lexicon (Cass & Slide mix)
Any help would be great. Thanks! By the way, Going to see PvD in Boston this Thursday!!! Should be amazing. Can't Wait!!! |

if you looking for melody, progressive is the wrong genre for you.. progressive is all about rhythm and atmosphere!
but heres a few tracks that i think would interest you:
freefall feat jan johnson - skydive (mara mix)
sander kleinenberg - venus and mars
tarrentella - karma (way out west mix)

agreed. still, there are plenty of prog tracks with a soothing synth, i.e.:
Cass and Slide - Perception (Vocal Mix)
Sasha - Ohmna (14 minutes of bliss)
James Holden - One For You (essential!)
Cosmos - Take Me With U (stellar, lawler spun it last friday!)
Resistance D - Feel High (my personal fave)
Sander Kleinenberg - My Lexicon
enjoy! also, try listening to some of the Global Underground and NuBreed cds to see what tickles yer fancy...
(by the way, I've always LOVED Mre - The Deep Edge, nice taste!)

Progressive trance with melody is a rare breed, but such an incredible sound! I love stuff like the tracks on this thread.

Just about anything by Cygnus X, most tracks a bit old, but good
libra presents taylor - anomaly calling your name (several mixes retain the progressive feel)
