Cool night! Got there around 1am after work...Really good crowd bumping about, smiles all over...But my Goddddd, that sound system is really utter crap. No matter where I stood, for the life of me, I couldn't hear any low-end whatsoever; only mids & highs. Personally, I find it very difficult to follow a DJs set, to see where he/she goes with it, when I can't hear a bassline. It really put a downer on the night for me personally. Other than that, cool vibes...
I only caught an hour of Maher's set but ya, he did a good job...definitely catered to the Daome crowd (those Plateau hippies hehe :p); a blend of tech, minimal, and some verrrrry experimental elements...Not a typical-sounding set from him.
...I only caught Maus for like 45 mins at the end & quite frankly, it's the 1st time I wasn't impressed with what she played. I love her usual industrial edge but last night, I just couldn't really follow what she was trying to accomplish. But like I said, I only caught 45 mins, so I guess I can't really pass a full judgment. And the Mos Def tracks she played at the absolute end were cool but just not suited for the set she'd just layed out. I love proper hip-hop and all but after hearing minimal, tech & industrial sounds, it just doesn't go...

*Unfortunatly Daome's sound system is still out of phase, they need to move the subs and EQ their room properly, alot of comb filtering... (Call me if u need a sound tech) lol |
