This week Matt provides us with an exclusive vocal mix coming from one of my favorite cities: San Francisco!

Adam K & Soha provide their euphoric interpretation of “Need to feel Loved” by Reflekt. I have loved this track since I first heard it in the background of the 2004 techno inspired movie “It’s All Gone Pete Tong!”. The original’s deep grooves are now replaced with an ambient backdrop to Delline’s Bass angelic vocals. It’s hard to update a song when it’s original shines so bright, but Adam K & Soha do a great job right here.

New York’s Dean Coleman provides us with a great vocal driven track titled “I Want You”. The vocals are reminiscent of Adam Levine of Maroon 5. But just when you are about to write the original off as too ambient for longplay, Sultan & Ned Shepard hit you with a throbbing remix that will shake the walls of the club guaranteed! This isn’t the only remix that deserves a lot of club play. Dave Aude’s remix satisfies that electro craving you’ve been fiending for in his rendition.

Cedric Gervais puts his unique Miami house touch into John Shelvin’s “Just Like You Said”. The original is an analogue driven record also deserving to be kept in heavy rotation. Cedric transforms Molly’s vocals into a uplifting spirit, instead dark driving ambience it originally transcends.

Grand National is “Cut by the Breaks”; slowing down the tempo of the vocal set by providing well delivered synthed male vocals over a peculiar melody. The breakdowns are what make this track unique. This track provides a distinctive interlude that manages to stay in the melodic range while not following the actual melody.

Medway provides us with Isabell’s Siren-esque vocals in Chris Domingo’s remix of “Fade”. Nothing goes better together than piano and female vocals. Chris adds that extra bounce in the bass line to make it slightly club friendly. Seductive whispering, with thought provoking lyrics.

The Bobby Deep and Venes collaboration continues with “Sahara”. Bobby Deep is a master at painting the image in your mind with sound and feel. Venes’ vocals are robust and fooled me into thinking it was an actual sample of original Middle Eastern music. If you enjoy this duo’s collaborations, also check out “Get Me High”.

When EdX makes a remix, he means business. I’m always excited when EdX releases a Ibiza Sunrise Remix. He’s done this is the past for Yves Larock’s “Say Yeah” , Sikk’s “The Whisper”, etc. This time around he transforms Funkagenda’s “Breakwater” into a dynamic backdrop where you can easily imagine those legendary Ibizan Sunsets. For minimalist, they may appreciate the original more due to its raw vibe. If the original is the version for you, The Dataworx remix may be something you’ll be interested in.

I am a big fan of Second Sun. They are one of the biggest live dance acts in the business, and their energy and vigor is only surpassed by infected mushroom. I urge you to see these guys when they visit. It’s an experience that will blow your mind! The original “Golden” is a heavy Spanish guitar influenced hit, with funky house twist. Sultan & Ned Shepard’s second remix appearing in this week’s nocturnal fails to disappoint. Watch out! Sultan & Ned are at it again!

Freza & DJ Flash drop a progressive house tune titled, “Electric Waves”. This remix by 4mal is perfect for set building. The true star behind this production is DJ Flash. Although he may not be a household name yet, some of his productions such as “Cosmogirl”, and “Air Trip” are well worth picking up. DJ Flash presents some fresh beats with a familiar old school sound.

Joshy Rotten is a fresh face to appear in the house scene. “Welcome” is a great introduction to this unique producer, which showcases his rhaspy vocals back dropped on a vibrant funky melody. “Forever” is another dance oriented track from the talented producer. Joshy is not limited to this one style. The Arizona DJ also shows his sensitive side with tracks such as “Slumber Party”, and “Rain”, which are filled with emotion and sentiment. Although I am not absolutely in love with his vocal style, I must admit, it is a style distinctive to Joshy Rotten; and I won’t take that creativity away from him.

Lastly, Daniele Papini & Mauro Picotto are “Gonna Get Ya” with this Marcel Woods Remix. The original record crossed genre boundaries effortlessly with play time by house, techno, breaks and trance DJs and labels all over the world. Marcel’s remix adds another dimension to the mix keeping this 2008 club banger’s play life alive.
