It's convenient that all the contemporaneous records of Jesus' existence have mysteriously disappeared, though, while other, conspicuously Jesus-free writings from that period survived.

Yes it's not like Thomas, Judas, Luke, John, Mark or Matthew made anything more than fleeting references to Jesus

I don't understand how logically you can believe that with the spread of Christianity like wildfire over 2000 years that there somehow must be some conspiracy surrounding the original writings and records concerning Jesus. That they were all made up and altered to trick people. Even really smart and well educated people of the time who considered him a "threat to Roman stability in Israel" as Josephus wrote.

i never said conspiracy. just a LOT of well-intentioned yet gullible people. i hardly think christianity's "wildfire" popularity is of any merit whatsoever when discussing the existence of the son of god. if so, perhaps you would like to buy my alchemy set?

right. so now you're using the bible as a reference? who wants to join me on the merry-go-round? :tongue2

*shakes my head* @ this Zionist... You give him proof and he wants you to proof the proof that the proof was even reputable to be acknowledged as proof.

Alex don't waste your time with this blockhead.

Atheist problem number 359203592309523095. Refusing to acknowledge the historical accuracy of the New Testament despite it's 1500+ years of survival amongst constant scrutiny and review by thousands of historians, archeologists and theologians.

I'll use the Bible all I like, I don't really care that you think it's BS because the evidence speaks otherwise. Despite what Richard Dawkins or any other misinformed atheist says :stongue: :stongue:

Oh, and a humorous side note.

Neither the Gospels of Thomas or Judas are in the Bible. Hmm, funny how you missed that. Shows just how informed and well versed in what you consistently discount as BS you are

well, clearly judas didn't quite make the cut when they were deciding which fantasy novellas to include in the Best Fantasy Stories of the Millenium. that much i knew. have no idea who thomas is, but clearly i know who matthew mark luke and john are. doesn't change the nature or accuracy of my comment.

A likely story :stongue:

It's ok PKC, you've been caught in some BS, it's not the end of the world. I suppose according to your own way of thinking you have the credentials to start your own world religion.

What are you talking about? Everyone knows who mat, mark, luke & john are. They're probably the only authors that I could name without seriously wracking my brain. I admitted to not knowing thomas, and I think its rather obvious to anyone that judas is unlikely to make the cut.

I admit to my mistakes champ, its hardly the end of the world ;) well, not that I know of. Perhaps you could give me an idea of when it might be? The various churches stopped prophesising around the time I was born...

Well Saint-Malachy predicted all the popes, and there are only supposed to be this dude + another then the world might go boom.

Well, that's where his list ended anyway. Of course this isn't doctrine and he was probably crazy as , but he made some cool predictions that have (probably coincidentally) come true.

dont spose he jotted down saturday's lotto numbers did he? coz im ing over my job.
Alex
Well find a pope betting pool for the next one and you might cash in big time. He's supposed to be "Peter of Rome".

Kind of obvious I guess since the last two popes haven't been big fat Italians and the Church almost exclusively elects big fat Italians as Pope. The next one should probably be a big fat Italian pope, I might start the betting myself.
