I think there are a lot of people who begin SERIOUSLY to be bored by some producers...for example,
SHOKK
DUMONDE
COSMIC GATE
...
very often, I read "SOUNDS THE SAME, TOO COMMERCIAL..."
do u think trance scene needs some new producers ? do u want the dead of them ? (shokk, dumonde,cosmic gate,...)
Personnaly, I think that : "SOUNDS THE SAME"= A STYLE.
your opinion ?

| No.. well i agree. I've actually started getting into Nu-School breaks etc alot more and other types of music which i've always liked but just never really took the time to get tracks of cause i was getting trance. |

Seriously, I think that we have heard a lot of trance music over the years and every "new" sound has been covered. I don't think we are gonna hear something these days that you haven't heard before or think it sounds similar to something else. |

I exatly know what u mean.
Especially the new SHOKK Remixes are all of the same style.
I still like his own productions and the remix of Excelsis, but the new stuff doesnīt interest me.
Artists like Paul van Dyk have always intersting and exciting songs, although they donīt change in style.
And I think thatīs the thing which makes a really good producer.

although i do like those artists mentioned above.. all three are guilty of using a lot of the same samples over and over
but slightly fukked with).. but there arnt many producers around that dont. even the 'greats' like M.I.K.E., PvD, Armin etc etc they all fekkin do it. same synth noizes, same drum samples same wooshy noizes. its only when you get to progressive house that you really hear the different sounds IMO. Ashtrax, Quirk, 16B and Allen & Healey for example.. each track of theirs is quite different. |

Goa trance is very different.
Name two Hallucinogen songs that sound the same...
I think Ferry Corsten is actually one of the better major producers for originality, even though he's bashed because of lack of it.
Just because he made a lot of good uplifting tracks, I don't think they sounded the same.
I don't really mind producers using a certain type, because some songs will just be great, while the others i just won't listen to. (see DuMonde). Now a producer like this is not one that I'd want to be a devoted fan to, but I can still enjoy their works. |
