okay,

Please don't read this the wrong way,I am not trying to be bashing, I think that excess club night posts are annoying and bumping posts is annoying too, but we need a separate forum for this, not just one thread.

I agree that event posts should be separate from regular forum chat, but seriously, one thread for all club posts is absurd, especially considering there are events for NY and New England - a lot of parties..would be easier to have separate posts about individual parties so that people can leave comments and promoters can see the response to the party etc

Here is example of a forum that does so,

http://www.nightb4.com/forums/?sid=...7220f19ce0f75d8

most other forums incorporate this, so why doesn't TA...

i disagree...

anyway is what it is..

wrong.

it's not that NO PARTY THREAD CAN BE POSTED HERE... it's just trying to weed out the ones that their SOLE purpose is to post about their ty parties.

Also, to stop having 3-4 reposts when a big dj comes to town.

no because having separate threads is what was the problem in the first place.

I too prefer a subforum. Way easier to see a list of dates/info than one enormous thread. Glowsticking.com does this pretty well:

http://www.glowsticking.com/forums/...rties-f124.html

Similar format for the subject/details would be solid too.

the problem is the blatant spam. If you contribute to the site regularly, and you have a party coming up that relates to the TA community, you should be able to post the info up. I agree...burying it in a sub forum or an events thread doesn't make sense.

again, the problem in my eyes, are the people who don't know a single TA, who sign up a name just to promote their parties / themselves and waste space.

Without constant supervision nothing will fix the spamming problem. If a subforum is built then the spammers would post in this forum and the subform. Someone would have to be watching and be moving the threads to the correct spot consistently until the spammers learned their lesson.

I don't see spamming as a really big problem on this forum. If you see something that doesn't interest you, just don't read it. People have made this too big of an issue which has caused unnecessary changes.

Some music forums have 8-10 random porn posts a day disguised as something interesting so people click them. Something like that is what I would consider a major problem. People should be allowed to start one thread (whoever they are) without being called a spammer.

90% of the users that browse this forum are here for party information and not for gossip.

so who is the judge of whether a party is ty or not? honestly...who

instead of this, why not just have a sub-forum where people can post about whatever party they want - outside of this forum

Please don't take this personally, i agree 100% about 3 or 4 threads about one party, that is redic. but that's also what a mod is for lol

i wouldn't consider it burring it in a sub-forum if that forum is where everyone goes to look for parties, but i see what your saying

Like what frank said, it can be a bit confusing having all of the parties in one thread..
MeLLyMeL
Tom - I disagree with the last part of your post.

People don't really come to join this site for the party 411 (though it is a big plus having all these local sections especially for TA's who tranvel:)). It's more about the music and community feel to it.

Now, if people come in just to post crap and it becomes every week then this forum becomes cluttered.

Most of the threads will have 0-1 replies and that would be by them - bumping. Not every single party deserves a fuking thread - plain and simple.

No one has to decide it's ty - but you must atleast contribute something to this fuking board. Or else - post ur in the events thread.

THIS IS NYYYYYYY PEOPLE. I am sure we can find 100's more parties to make a thread about.

In other words - this aint a free fuking space for you to post ur in hopes ppl will show up - you have myspace/fb for that

edit - how is having all the parties in one thread more difficult than having 1 million fuking party threads spread out onto 3 fuking pages?

No. You guys - if it is posted in the events thread - it can be managed BETTER and u have kick ass Tom who updates the 2nd post for all of NE.

So... How much EASIER is it for you to go hmm.. I have no plans next week *checks 2nd post* BAM!
