| Just a note to any of you guys planning not to go see Lawler, DON'T DO IT!!!! He was incredible last night, details in review thread in Toronto forum. Itikia's reply to that post sums it up nicely. |

It was my first time in Aria.....I had a great time, the crowd is much nicer than it is here in Toronto...
when it comes to the club, I think it kicks Guvernment's ass in TO, the place was packed yet there was still space to dance or sit whenever you wanted....
and you guys know how to party late ;)
I ended up leaving at 10:15 my friends left me way before at 7, but Lawler's set from 7:30-9:30 was just amazing
can't wait to go back to Montreal, and check out Sona next time! :D |

its unfair to judge guvernment with Aria I think... like I've pointed out before (I think)
Guvernment tries to (has?) acheive UK/USA super club status and Aria definatly has this underground vibe to it, not at all the same thing.. Sona and Stereo is the same... just hoping the the new Sona (with its new 'Phason' won't go the way of Guv)

I agree with you that Aria has an underground vibe, even if it didn't though, I still think Aria is a better venue than the Guvernment though...
and oh yeah....whats up with the bouncers?
(1) I was shocked they knew the DJ and set times unlike the bouncers at the Guv who wanna beat your head in and have no clue about the line-up.
(2)There were very few compared with clubs in TO, weed was stinking up the place from top to bottom. I went all the way to the entrance to find a bouncer.
Having such a status of the Guv. here is not so great in my persepective, I wanna breathe and dance inside a club not just hear good music. |
