It sucks that its not in south beach anymore. But I had a great time at Craze's Bass Sessions last year at nocturnal. I still think its gonna be a blast

man this really sucks about the venue and the shorter set :(

im sure you could pay off a bouncer pretty cheap though.

Do you guys think this will change the vibe of this party? I am really torn between this and Digweed. I might just keep both tix and play it by how I feel that night.

Oh damn, I've been w/out some internet for close to 6 hours...and this is what I miss.

So, what is Nocturnal main room like? I need details (capacity, lights, floor, SOUND, etc)!

Pretty big if I remember correctly. Website says 1000 capacity for what its worth. Basic lights, but really good sound. Two long bars on either side of the dance floor and it was never really dark in there the night I went. But it wasnt "Lights Out" of course.

i went once like 4 years ago but the sound was good. cant imagine they'll have sound there. they should have a proper setup. the main room is pretty small. thats my main gripe with the place. while its nice because youd think itd be more intimate, its really not. the dj booth is like on the second floor so from the dance floor you cant see the dj at all. i think the second floor is all vip, so yea bleh. and then the third floor is the terrace.

i guess the best way to describe it is that they modeled it to have a big room feel but its just too small so it doesnt work right. its not a terrible club, but its def no space either.

im gonna be positive though and hope that lawler kills it and makes up for this whole mess even though its not his fault at all. ing kore! :whip:

Nocturnal was a lot of fun when i went. Good Lighting & Sound.
Decent Sized Dancefloor yet somewhat intimate. I would say for the main floor alone capacity is probably 200-300 people, although my memory isn't great.

The terrace is pretty nice too.

DJ setup was on the floor last year at one end of the dance floor. Gave the room a very long feeling but I thought it was awkward.

oh that would be way better. i hate not being able to see the dj.

I've been to Nocturnal a few times icluding all the AM Only parties there. To even get a glimpse of the dj booth on the 2nd floor from the main floor you almost have to break your neck looking up. Not sure how the club will run that night, but the 2nd floor is not nessarily all VIP. A few WMCs ago we had a VIP table on the 2nd floor and people kept walking by infront of us and bumping/trampling all over us and our table.

Not the best set up for a club. When I told my wife about the venue change to Nocturnal she was really disappointed. Lawler is one of her favorite djs. I tried making it sound better by telling her that Circo Loco would be going on the terreace and she wasn't impressed with that either. The last time we were on the Nocturnal terrace was for the we love techno party last year Sunday night. It was a sparse crowd but we had a good time. Just didn't want to go there on a sat night. The more I think about this, I don't see how Nocturnal lends itself to a good Lights Out experience.

What to do ? ... not that interested in Digweed at Vagabond. He's another of our favorites, but we saw him there last year and just saw him in LA at the Mayan with the main purpose of not having to see him at WMC excpet for the boat party.

I like the discussion. Go forth.

I would be so in if I could bounce back and forth between Circo Loco and Lights Out. But this JP crap is the only thing that has me worried. Discuss....
