New York City based DJ/producer Mike DiRocco got his start in the NYC underground scene in 2005 DJing bars and lounges, and throwing a small local monthly party on Manhattan's Lower East side. Soon after, he teamed up with a group of NYC djs and promoters and was instrumental in the creation of the well known CoreNYC dj/promotion collective which has been responsible for bringing some of the worlds best djs and producers to the big apple, while holding down monthly residencies at several major NYC mainstays including LOVE, Rebel and most recently New York's famed Sullivan Room.
Since launching his professional career, DiRocco has been billed on nights with some of the worlds most respected DJs and producers including Eric Prydz, James Zabiela, Nic Fanciulli, John "OO" Flemming, Jody Wisternoff, Dave Seaman, Sean Tyas, Christopher Lawrence, The Thrillseekers, John O'bir, Creamer & K, Perry Oneil, Christian Smith, Tom Colontonio, Andy Moor, George Acosta Infected Mushroom ect. at various venues throughout New York, Philadelphia and Miami including, Pacha New York, Webster Hall, Sullivan Room, Love, Rebel and many more.
While his sound can run a broad spectrum in terms of genre, DiRocco remains committed to an upbeat; dance floor centric approach when crafting his live sets and hit the studio hard with this sound in 2009. At only 27 years old, 2009 promises to be DiRocco's biggest year yet. |
