It seems James Iha, of Smashing Pumpking and Perfect Circle fame, is starting another musical project called Tinted Windows. He's gotten together quite an eclectic mix of preformers:
James Iha(Guitar) - Smashing Pumpkins, A Perfect Circle
Bun E. Carlos(Drums) - Cheap Trick
Adam Schlesinger (Bass) - Fountains of Wayne, songwriter
Taylor Hanson (Vocals) - Hanson, Mmmbop
Supergroups are all the rage these days, but this is a really diverse and interesting group of performers. They've got a gig next month in Austin, TX and an album ready to hit shelves. The album is slated for Spring 2009, which sounds like the public's reaction will be gauged after a few gigs and the situation reassessed.
Not sure how this will work out, but I'll definitely be checking them out once they've got some more info and a single or two "leaked".

Ive been a hardcore Smashing Pumpkins fan all my life.
I even got James Iha`s solo album, but i dont have much faith in this.
But who knows. |

| im not a fan of any of them specifically, but super-group collaborations (mainstream or not) in general can produce some great or at least interesting results. hopefully this is a passionate music project and not just a publicity move... |
