holy hell! Which of those bird breeds was the most talkative? |
African Grays are, by far, the friendliest and most talkative birds I know of. "Friendly" being a point of relativity to whatever nature has armed her particular raptor with to defend itself. :p
The caiques were very noisy parrots. They're gorgeous and playful, but in my experience tend to replicate incessant little sounds more so than human speech. You know - your alarm clock, the sound of a truck beeping as it backs up, your telephone - that sort of thing.
The sound of exotic birds chortling and murmuring amongst themselves each morning is a wonderful thing to wake up to. |

The17sss, I'd like you to know that if I was given some time alone with your wife, I'd be at her like a tramp eating chips. |
:haha: that paints a pretty vivid picture |

I can't even imagine all that noise. I could have choked one and cooked the others. :p |
That's how I feel about having girl roommates. |

african grays are the ones who can immitate the best. i knew someone who had one that immitated the phone ringing and you could never tell if it was the bird or the phone. lol
im going through a major bird phase and i keep begging my bf to get one. i totally agree about the waking up to bird noises. i think it would automatically put me in a good mood. |

that last sentence is borderline sig-worthy..lol. Why so many birds in your house growing up, man? |

We had a very, very open house though. When I talk about loving the sweet sound of bird songs in the morning, that is with the birds out on the patio and enormous sliding glass doors flung open - were the birds inside or even in the same room with you... that. It is not a sweet symphony to begin your day. It's goddamned loud that makes you want to fricassee your $1600 pet.
And Slylee, if you're thinking of getting a bird but feel it's only a phase, please don't get an African Gray. They can live to be 70. Get a finch or a parakeet or something like that... they are much easier to take care of and far, far less expensive. |

yea i know dude, that's why i said i'm not gonna start off with a parrot. i know what is involved in owning animals:) in fact, i have a big problem with most dog owners who get them and then do a half assed job with them. |
