WRONG. There weren't two candidates. In fact there were many more. A good alternative candidate would have been Cynthia McKinney. Look her up on youtube.

The bottom line is Obama told us he was all about change. But instead we got the same old recycled people from the Clinton adminstration, many of whom including Summers and Rubin are directly responsible for the financial mess.

Not to mention Lynn is back who was assistant CFO at the Pentagon when 3-4 trillion dollars went missing.

I also want to point out:
1. No soldiers are coming home. They are only being moved to Afghanistan to fight an unwinnable battle. The military budget should be drastically reduced, but it will not be. This is a game of geo-political chess being played out in central Asia. Its more about control of the opium, oil, and gas reserves rather than about the Taliban.
http://www.321gold.com/editorials/e...dahl020609.html
2. Only $40 billion out of $790 billion is being allocatd for infrastructure. The rest is for poverty pimps like Acorn voter fraud, a one million person "private volunteer group" which sounds like fascism to me, and a huge project to centralize health records into a government database which has huge implications for abuse.
http://solari.com/blog/?p=2082.
The tax benefit to individuals at $10 a paycheck is a joke. He should be immediately raising taxes on the most wealthy but he is not (despite the top 1% now owning 39% of the wealth in the U.S.).
3. Obama pushed the first round of TARP through, and requested the second round. Without his support TARP would never have passed in the first place. The TARP money is money being taken from the average citizen and given to banks to offset their derivatives speculation. Its a way to socialize the losses and privatize the gains. In particular, the parasitical financial institutions like Bank of America, JP Morgan, and Citi should be and are bankrupt, but Obama continues to funnel money to them. They should be seized by the FDIC and split up into small pieces.
4. Obama and Biden voiced very loudly their support for Israel, despite the atrocities and war crimes that have been committed recently.
5. Obama's proposed cap and trade system threatens to cut our GDP even further by levying a tax on what essentially is industrial production. Look up how Goldman Sachs stands to benefit from his cap and trade system, at the expense of the U.S. taxpayer. In short, Goldman Sachs invests in a company that has an unprofitable sequestering technology. That company receives government subsidies at the expense of the taxpayer to subsidize that profit into production. The profits go to Goldman Sachs rather than being invested in the real economy. You have got to ask yourself, why are the car companies going to be put through bankruptcy because they collectively need $30 billion, while the financial institutions have goten $2 trillion plus trillions more in guarantees from the Federal Reserve?
6. Obama is keeping Bush's executive orders which eliminated Habeous Corpus (H.C. prohibits the government from using the military against the people) and which permits the government to spy on its citizens.
7. I might also add that Obama administration seems like it will be going forward with a missile deployment system in Eastern Europe to fight supposed Rogue missiles from Iran. Is this really the time for military escalation such as this?

etc.

So much for "change" LOL

my review:

even though his trips to-and-from the airport had many hours in between, they still had the "potential motorcade routes" roped off. I had to walk an extra 8 blocks just to find a way around all of the cops protecting an empty street. was kind of cool to see snipers on downtown rooftops, though.

I give it a 0/10 because his visit was an inconvenience to me and made me late for an appointment.

Im bedazzeled with your devotion to following his policies...I wish I was that diligent and informed (maybe one day soon)

The ONE I've been keeping a keen eye on for months is renegotiating NAFTA and Canada's lobbying to avoid it (ie. let "buy american = buy north american" aka F*&^ China, Russia etc.)

From what economic history I've read isolationism has not been succesful in the previous century during such difficult economic times. Although I'll be the first to admit I'm not a scholar on the subject. If you or anyone has any thoughts I'd love to read them to complement all the news I've recentally been trying to process.

*Edit* I think it is may just be fantastic that a politician is getting this kind of celebrity. I hope his presidency inspires at least 1 out of 5 people to consciously and intelligently pay attention to politics that normally would not.
