your best bet is to start going to whhatever club you want to play at weekly. meet new people, and if you're lucky you'll meet someone who can help you. if you're even luckier they will like you, and if you're even more luckier they will like your style/mixes/personality/etc and will hire you
of course, you can't go around looking to get hired. just go out and have fun and if any opportunities present themselves take a shot at it. it's going to take a long time, so patience is key. also, seriously, dont walk up to a promoter or booking agent and be like "yo, hire me". they get that a thousand times a day
tldr: Go out more often, meet new people, have fun. Eventually you should end up behind the decks instead of in front of them |
