Right, .m4a is AAC (based on MPEG4), which has the capability to store the cue points and track art.

But a podcast doesn't HAVE to be .m4a, it can be .mp3, or even video. It's just a term apple came up with that sounds better than "RSS audio/video feeds for your iPod" :tongue3

Sorry I guess my post was misleading. I was saying that it IS a .m4a and thus your post above mine was incorrect. Enhanced Podcasts can be .m4a (like Club Life).

haha, its funny how their branding is so powerful that people get completely lost with definitions.

"Hey, nice new mp3 player you got there"
"Its NOT an mp3 player its an iPod!"
"ah... apple jerk"

Well i figured some things out here, you can create an enhanced podcast with windows movie maker as a .wmv file and then convert it to an .mpeg4 which can be opened in itunes. Once in itunes you right click and choose 'convert selection for ipod' and then it should be able to be uploaded to itunes.

I finally made my first enhanced podcast yesterday in iTunes. Pretty cool stuff!

I uploaded the file to my MobileMe iDisk, and also made a Podcast website in iWeb (where it just points to the shared .m4a on my iDisk). How do I now make it where anyone can subscribe to my podcasts so that they download into iTunes under the Podcasts section, and if I post a new one and they hit refresh it will auto-download?

Go into the itunes store and click on podcasts, then scroll down to the bottom and on the left you'll find 'submit a podcast' type in your url and it should work from there. I have'nt got that far yet as I'm having trouble uploading my file to the net, but let me know how it goes if you dont mind.

Yep, it'll take a while though. I think they have to approve them all.

I found out you need to create a feed via RSS (.xml). I found an awesome program called Feeder that allowed a 15 day trial and it was super-easy to create the xml file that way. Then you submit to the IMS as mentioned above and await approval.

How long does it take to get approved? Are they checking for content and or what?
