I arrived at 9pm to EDC last year, did not wait in line, and had no problem with the crowds. It did take me almost an hour to find my friends who showed up at 4pm to brave the crowds, but it was worth not having to wait in line for 1-2 hours to get in.

You have to go to massives with the mind set that you are going to have a good time no matter what happens. A lot of it is psychological. If you think you are going to have a bad time because of the large number of people there, you probably will. However, if you go in with a positive attitude, you will have a great time.

If you are sensitive to big crowds and psychic energy, there is plenty information on the web on how to deal with crowds and the emotions they bring out. It's good to know what effects being in a large crowd can have on a person and how to make the most of your experience in positive and enlightening way.

EDC 2008 was probably one of the best raves I've ever been to. It was fantastic. It was great to see so many people out and see it grow from the first EDC I attended in 1997 at the Shrine Auditorium.

I didn't mind the VIP :) Although I had to leave at 8:30 to work the door at Vanguard for A & B. Had a much easier time getting in to EDC than getting out though.

You should have stayed! The music the rest of the night was incredible. The drum & bass stage was ing rocking. The bass hit you in your chest like, "WHOA!!!" Black Rob-style.

You think I wanted to stand out front of Vanguard all night and take tickets:conf:
Would have loved to stay all night. 2 years in a row I had to leave to run the door at Van. The year before I even had to give up a gig in the backroom that night at Van because I couldn't find anyone else to do the door. I do get paid for it though. And EDC is always my B-Day weekned. I might come back to town this year and actually get to enjoy myself at EDC.

1997, aaaahhhhhhhh, the memories. My first party I went to after having my first kid. That was a long hiatus...I stopped in Nov 95 when we found out about me being pregnant. Someone from my hubby's work asked us to go since we hadnt been out in soooooo long. Fun times!
