I just got this, and I'm listening to it for the first time right now. It was recommended on Myra's funk thread. If you like deep, funky, disco-ish house you will surely enjoy this. Highly recommended

Exactly. Very funky and fresh mix, listened to it a couple of times now and I'm still amused by it.
Even a friend of mine, who isnt into EDM as much as I am, asked me while this was playing in the background; 'What cd is this? Nice music man ...'

Agent 86' other (radio-)mixes are worth trying too.

:wtf:

People outside of Melbourne know who Agent 86 is?

Seen this guy play 25+ times and he is without doubt one of the best DJs I know. His roots are in hip-hop; he still plays on vinyl and does scratches and cuts, but he also has a strong techno/house grounding.

Whether it's a peak time, 135 BPM techno set or a 120 BPM funk set, I can only think of perhaps three other jocks with such a diverse range of quality music and the ability to read the mood and atmosphere of a club so adroitly. He's an incredibly friendly guy too, and loves it when you ask about what he's playing.

I don't know where you can get it digitally, because I only have a vinyl copy, but this track of his is well worth picking up:

The A Side is so ing good.

Thanks for the heads up

And yeah, I never heard about this guy until this Balance comp came to my attention. I will definitely be checking out more of his stuff.

Beat me to it! Yeah Agent 86 is pretty damn wicked :) His warm up 30 minute mix for Kraftwerk was fantastic. Shame they didn't play.

I listened to this because I had to write a review about it. Though, it was quite a pleasant surprise :) Funky all over the place.
