stuff like fergie plays, so not much nu-nrg as much anymore
and for u ******s that say all he plays is cheese, what the do u listen to, im tired when wankers like say midro sux he plays what people want to ing hear. what u wana hear that plain trance ?
who the listens to that in australia ? are u stupid or something.
got any rave club in melbourne, EVERYTHING is nrg type music, none of that slow
and how is what he plays cheese ? do i hear his songs on the radio ?
NO.
SO furthermore, midro rox
and people who say he sux, shut the up unless u are going to give a proper reason
and as for his dj abilities, watch midro on the decks on night, u will rarely see any other dj do as much work as he does on the decks.
and midro at bubble ? hmmmm oh wait he did appear there once ! he usually at bass station
and ummmmmm master kaos rox ! if u aint heard him yet, try to =P

I'm relatively new to these forums so I've been sifting through a lot of threads to see what the major focal points are. 'Cheese' seems to be mentioned a lot and often it disturbs me that it is used so loosely to describe certain tracks.
From what I have gathered, it seems 'cheese' is only a measure of a songs popularity - not it's actual quality. Whenever someone labels a particular tune cheesy, they have this mentality that they were like the first to hear it and because everyone else is just startin' to enjoy it, they jump off the bandwagon and begin isolating themselves from it.
I just personally think it's sad that people have to feel this way and I know it is evident in all the other musical genres also. It doesn't mean you're a sheep just because you like the same thing as evryone else, it just means you like music that reflects your own personal tastes and it also happens to be similar to a lot of other people.
Anywayz, the reason I bought up this issue in this thread was that the first reponses to my initial post were 'he's cheesy' and sumthin' bout bedwetting. I don't have a problem with that cos essentially that's your opinion and that's what I asked for in the first place. I was just wonderin' just because a dj includes some relatively 'known' tracks in his repetoire does that make him a bad dj?
I personally don't think so but I anxiously await your views.
P.S. I LOVE Freefall and although it is played to death, it always reminds me on how and why I got hooked to this music and lifestyle. :) |

Well, cheesiness isn't meant to be about how popular the song is, it's about how the song sounds, but it's just that some people get it mixed up sometimes. The Vengaboys would be cheesy whether they made it popular or not, and Skydive wouldn't be cheesy no matter how popular it got (though, as I said, you'd probably get sick of it after a while).
If a song has a poppy, tacky sound to it, then it should be labelled cheese. I personally don't think that the stuff Midro plays can be called cheese, even though it's not the sort of stuff I'd normally listen to. If he was cheesy he'd be playing stuff by Ian Van Dahl, Alice Deejay, the Vengaboys or Ferry Corsten (just kidding :D).
Nup. :) |
