Nuendo/Battery Changing Pitch

Hey TA, I'm new here and create trance as a hobby. I Have been trying to create a song I can truly be proud of for years. Currently I'm working with Nuendo 3

I'm not sure if this is the right place to post but can someone give me some instructions on how I change the pitch of a wave sample in Battery 3.2? I want to be able to play different notes with a .wav file. I couldn't think of a better way of doing this other than through automation of the pitch (and couldn't even figure out how to do that).

If there is a better way for me to be able to play different notes with a Wav file I'd love to know how.

Can someone help me out?

1. In Battery, click on the cell that you want to pitch
2. Then click on the Cell tab
3. Assign the cell to any MIDI channel. By default, it should be set to Omni. Remember what channel this is, we'll need it again in a later step.
4. While still in the Cell tab, set a wide Key Range... so for example, C1 / C4. Here, you are setting the pitch range of your sample.
5. Last thing to do in the Cell tab is to press the Tracking button. This is going to basically enable the "pitch bending" of your sample across the Key Range you selected.

Note: Step 5 will make the root note of your sample to C1 and if you want to pitch down your sample, you will have to set the low end of your Key Range to anything below C1.

6. Lastly, you need to assign your MIDI track to the same MIDI channel that you set in Step 3.

That should be it and you should now be able to play your sample at different pitches across your MIDI keyboard.

Thank you for that detailed explanation. Seems like it worked!:happy2:

Edit: Only issue is that it seems that I have to dedicate a whole Battery VST to each individual sound so that they won't interfere when the keys are pressed. Is there a way to set it so that I can have an individual Midi Track for each sound on the battery VST? The way I have it set up new, the sounds overlap even though I have the Midi Channel set to 1 and each cell as a different channel.

You also need to set the output of each cell to a different output within Battery (on the bottom right corner).
