I feel sorry for you guys because people are going to lump the entire nation of pakistan with the 'terrorist' marker and it's obviously untrue, but so much damage will be done from this. There had already been talk about holding an india vs pakistan series in England, the tickets to any game here sell out and it would give a safer place for them to play, but ultimately the people of the nation and the players are those who will lose out. |
Well honestly I have given up on Pakistan.....it has gotten beyond ugly over there Im really concerned about my wife as she is teaching there in private school.Schools do get hit by these ******s time after time.I just want her here asap,Plus this is def a big blow to pakistani cricket as other cricket playing nations will not feel comfortable in coming to pakistan( I dont blame them ) if these people(terrorists) want craziness like afghanistan and iraq they will get it sooner or later but it sucks for the rest of the people and avg pakistanis. |

| Definitely Ummie. Abu Dhabi & Dubai are hosting some ODIs between Pakistan & Australia soon but it's not as if the local fans from pakistan can easily get there as they could on just a day out to the ground. Talk is now that the IPL may be in danger depending on the ramifications from this, as it's six whole weeks where security would have to be sky high. There is talk that the religious fundamentalists see cricket as an insult to Islam but I really hope that's not so, it's a sport that can unite countries and give many great rivalries and the asian subcontinent and the hospitality of the people all over is really enjoyed by all travelling fans. From what I can tell, the whole country is close to a huge meltdown. My dad is a friend of ex captain & wicketkeeper Rashid Latif who played for a number of years in local cricket leagues which my father umpired and he said the situations were always in danger of something big happening, he feared for it so much. |

When I was in pakistan in august 08 for my wedding I was scared being on the road where there were lots of people around me.....I always thought something might blow off anytime or something that sort even myself a Pakistani that was born there and had lived there I felt so unsafe......These people causing these attacks seem to have more of political agenda then a religious one as far as I can see Cricket is a sport that is loved by pakistanis of all background...even the hardcore ones play it and its a sport that doesnt seem to go against any islamic principle is also the national sport of Pakistan.
These people causing these tensions are doing it for some sort of terror they want to put in the heads of foreigners who are in Pakistan right now......stupid move that would hurt the country really bad in lots of differnet ways. |

ps. even al-Qaeda supported soccer in their terrorist camps (based on media coverage i've seen). don't see how cricket is any different. both british sports. |

are you ing kidding me? pakistan is THE hotbed for terrorism and terrorists. let's not mince our words because there's a slight majority that aren't islamic extremists. i mean come on, what else do you expect from a nation that split from india because of religious differences? what else do you expect from a nation with the capital named islamisbad? |

sure, big parts of the country are but not everyone. There's a lot of places in neighbouring india which are ranked as unsafe for people from the uk gov but people still got here. All i know is a lot of is going on there, for whatever reasons/excuses and something needs to be done but a t the same time feel sorry for those who are innocent. |
