Any experiences with Windows 7? Drivers and all that jazz work ok? I'm tempted to try it, but I'm not one to partition my drive/all that fancy . So if I did it, I'd just install over Vista, but I'm worried about games/apps/drivers being compatible. |

You can shrink your partition within Vista to create a space for a second and dual boot. Without 3rd party software. ;)
In regards to drivers, I chose to run the 64bit version and I did run into one whack thing, but I was able to get around it. The TV Tuner driver on my machine here wouldn't run natively. I had to run it in compatibility mode. Even then, technically, the driver installer crashed, but not before it installed the driver.
Aside from that, it seems to run everything I throw at it. It is what Vista should have been. If you play games, I would wait till it is final before replacing it as your primary. I do use it full time here at work, but I have Vista on another partition just in case. |

hmm...i'm too scurred. i'll wait! damn that bottom bar looks sexy tho! fudge, maybe i'll do it!
does the amount of space needed for the second partition need to be about equal to the first? like if I want to be able to access all my current music/games/files, it needs to be about equal, right? not quite sure how this works... |

Nah you can have a 10gb partition for it if you wanted..although that supposedly isn't enough to install it. lulz just make it like 30gb or something. |

But I'll still be able to run all my apps and access all my files? I guess what I'm wondering is, if I'll need enough space for the new install to basically copy all my files/apps if I want to use them without having to switch back to Vista. Or I only need enough partition space for the install, and it will automatically access my files from the Vista portion.
EDIT: Fudge, looks like Windows 7 Beta is no longer available. Oh, well. |
