Guy Gerber Remix of Mambo Jambo is the best thing I've heard from him in a long time!

Jumpy, deep, great percussion, lots of his signature atmospherics and drawn out sequencing.

Just picked it up actually, great stuff.

I agree....I like all 3 samples on Juno

Tracks 1 and 3 for me but I'd love to see 2 used in the right context

And yea this is Gerber's best work since his remix of Formation flying

Just saw the article up on RA the other day, didn't realize this came out already.

This is a pretty awesome release. Dop is doing the business as of late.

yeah, the original of mambo could go really well with something else underneath.

i have some of dop's stuff - this isn't bad, but the squeaky clean sound gets to me after a while. i used to play 'im just a man' and 'merci' and i just get no urges to put them on anymore. a lot of dop stuff i find downright cheesy, like he makes good tracks and then just junks them up with bull vocal samples and weird noises. as i said, the mixing is squeaky clean, and i think it sterilizes and undermines the kind of sounds that he uses in the tracks. i still like 'allo boom boom', probably because it has no vocals.

on this release i think the guy gerber track is the best, and i really don't like guy gerber (he has said some inappropriate things to someone very close to me lol)

i can't stand the type of obligatory vocal sampling that is used in 'genius of the crowd'. i feel a lot of dop tracks sound quite contrived despite how 'loose' they attempt to be with this sort of instrumentation. sort of feel the same way about noze and a lot of the circus company stuff, but noze are just so ing weird that they pull it off.

this isn't bad, but i won't buy it.

im also ing sick of all these bland sax/flute/trumpet/trombone/sousaphone/mellophone/euphonium stabs

I like the Guy Gerber remix of Mamba Jumbo, reminds me of somtehing I worked on recently, which seems to happen with Guy Gerber's tracks, its like we share minds or some . Nice vibe and groove in there.

They make pretty cheesy tracks. I'm just a man was cool because everything mostly worked well together but their latest have been weak. That Blanche Neige tune was some spoken word guy telling the Snow White story, with a big breakdown during the "Mirror, Mirror" part, plus the music wasn't even that good.
:wtf:

The only track I like on this release is the Guy Gerber remix.

Same for me on the Gerber release, was the only one I bought.
