My friend just sent me an IM in utter panic saying she had accidentally declined her student loans that she NEEDS (since her bill for the semester is due in a week, and if she can't pay she can't go back to school).
So, is she ed completely or is there any sliver of hope? I have no idea what to tell her besides stop flipping out and go to her Financial Aid office in the morning. |

| you need to send her to sleep somehow, I have a set in the dj forum which might help with that :p She's gotta calm down & go in the morning, nothing else will help her and the more she panics the worse she'll get. If all else fails, seduce her, take one for the team & calm her the down that way :p |

...But I'm a girl.
I guess its not helping she's contacting her already graduated friends and they are saying she's ed.
I mean, c'mon, she CAN'T be the only dumb ass to have ever done this. |

Tell her she inst going to sort out panicking about it.
When I went to university I didn't apply for my loan until 2 weeks before I was due to go, so it can be possible to get it very quickly.
In the mean time, she needs to either start asking around to borrow money, or she needs to speak to the teachers or whatever to arrange something, ideally a delayed payment, which I can't see them refusing if this is the first time it's happened. |

Thanks Acton, I'll pass that along to her. I got a hold of a friend of mine who did the same thing and assured me she's not ed, all she has to do is call her financial aid office and the department of education RIGHT AWAY and it should be sorted out in a couple of of days (if she gets there in time).
And Ian... :p |

No worries.
That sounds about right, just tell her to do it now, and to take a chill pill :p |

i wouldn't worry too much about it, since people are generally willing to help someone out of an accident... |
