Markus was only on for about an hour. I expected his set to be much longer, as I would think he was a headliner, but maybe I was mistaken and all DJ's were to get equal time...

Markus' set was good, but maybe it would have been a little better for me if he hadn't spun a very similar set on Sirius @ the Raleigh on Wednesday. Other DJ's set before OK, but nothing spectacular. If I would have known all sets were an hour, I probably would have skipped this event, as the One Night Only @ Karu & Y sucked for me because of the short sets. Much rather see a couple DJ's with proper quality 2 hr + sets.

Kind of a weak turnout. More than half the club was empty.

They had an outside section this year, just off the Rehab bar section, which was nice.

The volume was way too loud to the point of almost overdriving the speakers. It just sounded bad since it was so loud. I had to stand by the first front bar so I wouldn't go deaf. You don't need 10000 decibels for the music to sound good. I don't remember it being so loud last year for Armada @ Parkwest.

Took some pics with my cell, but they didn't come out too well, so they aren't worth posting...

wow. so they actually downgraded from the original set times posted? wow wow wow.

and yea... the sound systems being too loud seems to be an issue this year. i dunno wtf people are thinking.

It looked as if Emery was covering for Schulz after like 2:15am. He was killing it towards the end of his set for sure. Schulz must have gotten on around 3am, then was off by 4:15am, really annoyed me (the event seemed to be a headliner for him?). After that the floor was more than half empty probably.. Jong played well too.

Pics & Video later most likely.

an hour? wow thats such a ing joke its not even funny. would love to hear what the promoters have to say about this. maybe something happened. i dunno. i know markus was recording this event for his gdjb world tour set next week as well as the ultra and aerobar sets. but those are 2 hours, so it doesnt make sense that he would only play an hour unless something happened.

how long did they actually stay open? probably not the 12pm they were advertising if the club was half empty at 3am.

Yeah, what a ing joke right? Not only do they bs about the 3 hour extended set, but they totally piss all over the people that did make the effort to attend by ripping them off with just an hour and 15 minutes of Schulz. $40? no wonder the place was half empty...I guess everyone must have known the promoters were full of .

Did Cosmic gate even show up?

It is South Beach, what can you really expect? Promoters and DJs from all over the world trying to do their best to work with the venues and make the DJs and venues happy where miscommunication is rampant and promises are never kept. If you've ever worked with promoters you know that things change last minute all the time. You just have to roll with it. I am sorry to hear you guys were let down. I hope you enjoy the rest of your stay. I've been having a great time. You could have put on Kanye West the first three days I was here and I would have been happy just to hear a beat in South Beach. I love this town. I am looking forward to hearing nothing but the best in house, techno, and minimal the next few days. Maybe some trance. Kaeno's closing set at Aerobar on Tuesday night/Wednesday morning was wicked. Did anyone catch that?

oh wow guys!!!

I'm a huge fan of markus schulz...It has nothing to do with the promoters when there was no promotion from within which was promised ...the promoters and myself promoted the hell out of it but it's not that easy being from a different state...there were things promised and things didn't come through and thats what happens...

even security was telling people to come back tomorrow and stupid things like that. I was there for danny tenaglia and there were flyers everywhere for his party and boris's party two days afterz but i hardly saw any flyers out for our event on the streets at all. I was trying to find some flyers to get autographs and not one flyer could be found in the club after literally asking every employee there...the club could have done some promotion too as it was agreed...but forget about all of that...

Markus was amazing...gareth emery was awesome and menno de jong tore it up as well.

I couldn't find a flyer for markus to sign so my girlfriend was working at the door and asked markus's manager and markus's wife actually said she'd find something for him to sign and at the end of the night, she gave my girlfriend the toronto 09 cd signed by markus...that was definitely the highlight of the night and my miami trip....even though i didn't get to spin at this event it didn't really bother me how packed or not packed the place was...i got to see awesome djs play.
