Anyone a fan?

I've discovered him recently and quite like his work. :)

Seen him live some years ago, love his stuff.

Bonobo is awesome, and I'm glad I'm not the only one who likes him around here. I also like Boards Of Canada, Ulrich Schnauss and even Helios, but their music is tiring and even soulless compared to that of Bonobo. For me, the music he presented on Animal Magic is THE chillout music (his later output is more uptempo, but equally good (or even better - Dial M For Monkey)). I also love the way he adds vinyl hum and clicks and pops to his recordings, probably to make material even more warmer than it would normally sound (or maybe the CDs are mastered from vinyls, but I highly doubt in that). It seems to be his practice to release a new album every three years, so I think we can expect a new material from him this year (since his latest album Days To Come was released in 2006). I just hope it won't feature so much vocals as Days To Come. Similar to Bonobo are iso68 (very nice last year's album Space Frames) and Pushmipulyu (also awesome album 133 Thursdays from 2007).

Recurring is a gorgeous track.

Ok, tiring then. They have that old analogue synths that sound warm and pretty, but often their sounds go nowhere and tracks generally don't evolve in the way I expect. Bonobo is completely different, he's a complete musician and his tracks usually feature many different instruments or jazzy samples and build up to great little masterpieces. I'd say I like BoC's sounds, but I love Bonobo's tracks (which get their true meaning in album format).

So I'm not the only one that likes his music... Cool. :)

This one is also very good:

I should hope not. It's amazing chill out music.

I really like the whole "days to come" album from front to back. Though it's a bit heavier on vocals than his other stuff it's still great. There's a few artists I've never heard of in this thread so thanks to everyone for those, I'll be checking those out now. I'm sure everyone has heard of Thievery Corporation (though they haven't been mentioned yet), so my lesser known contribution to this thread is "Tortoise".

TC's The Mirror Conspiracy is gold. :) Although I do have the rest of their albums, I haven't gave them a close(r) listen.
