About a year ago I posted an unfinished sample, it got quite alot of good respond but it had alot of flaws :toothless
today it is finally finished, (not that I worked on it for a whole year, it got forgotten).
I'd really like some feedback especially some respons on the mixdown. This was a really hard one to mix (it's quite full frequentywhise).
Does anyone know any appropiate labels who might be interested in this? :p (a label with some balls maybe? ;))

I might add some atmospheric and effects, no problemo ;) I'm just glad I finally put an end to changing the mixdown and structure (did you notice I reduced from 7:25 to 5:45 ;)?)

| hey man, taking a listen; some cool sounds in here. i like your pads a lot. very nice bass progression; I feel like your bass is top and mid heavy but doesn't match well with the low. Sorry for any misjudgments my sound output is not very great. The flow seems unconventional to me(not sure why) but I do really like the main section, the breakdown and post, pretty sweet leads. A lot of work on this one eh? nice, keep it up sweet sound. |

| also i would like to make a suggestion of personal opinion. you know that arp that comes before the first build? If it was more similair is sounding to the uplifting lead melody, i think it would be more suited. i really love the main section :D |

Pros: Killer main melody. I really like the idea of switching between two different timbres.
Possible Cons:
I would really like to hear some kind of build-up, large or small, to the main portion of the melody. The one you have right now doesn't sound cliche enough to be clearly recognizable.
Same thing with the end of the main melody: it sounds really abrupt.
Weak Lows - Besides the kick there isn't a real presence in this range.
Beatless Intro - Crappy DJs might have a hard time mixing this.
I don't know, what do you think? |

You're talking about the bass with the lp-filter on sounding like it's a lower key, then when the filter is off?
well I noticed it too, but doesn't really bother me (maybe I heared it to much)

not sure if I should take that strictly negative ;)
I did a little out of the box thinking, but indeed the structure can be tighter

problem is I don't really know how I should end it, if it goes on the sound goes so high it hurts the ear. only thing I can come up with is a hugh echo (any sugestions?)

What else should I put in this range besides the kick? tought the bass filled in that position

haha, I'll add high punchy kick in the beginning then ;)
thnx for the comments, guys |

I could almost see you doing a multi-compressor sidechain between the kick and bass... and I would really reconsider your bass -- it is hurting my ears for some reason when the filter is completely open.
I can tell that a lot of work went into this. It was definitely a good listen minus the bass-buildup that was slightly painful.
Keep it up! |

Is this a song about knitting someone a sweater? ;)
The mix seems to lose some of its bass oomph, after a bit. I think the mix could be a little more balanced as some of it got to be a touch shrill, but it's an excellent track, so far. |
