CR-78: ‘EP-01’

1. ‘2+1=24’
2. ‘Answerphone’
3. ‘Hissy not splashy’

CR-78 describe their sound as ‘Essextronica’ - it’s gadgety 80s-inspired whacked out techno wizardry; quirky but very accessible. Andy Leary, one half of electronic songsters Relation, and fellow Essex musician, Graham Boosey (Little Penguin), plugged together their musical gizmos and set about creating with great aplomb the three triumphantly fun and engrossing tracks featured on ‘EP-01’. It’s Detroit with a cheeky glint of Essex.

1. ‘2+1=24’ – Sublime hard-to-define brilliance that sounds like a party played back in slow motion.

2. ‘Answerphone’ – Chiming with simple catchy melodies and electronic harmonies insightfully blended with fresh ingenuity and a sense of fun.

3. ‘Hissy not splashy’ – Drenched in glorious cascading 80s synths, this cheeky effervescent number is unashamedly inane and delightfully feel-good.

CR-78 is a new project of Andy Leary (Relation) and Graham Boosey (Little Penguin). Andy Leary has already had production success with Relation with ‘Superenlightened’ (Urban Torque), supported by Sasha and Digweed amongst others, and co-writing ‘Solution’ with Superbass, which was released as a single on Toolroom Records. Relation will soon be releasing an album, ‘Fear Of Night,’ on Urban Torque.

Reaction: Nick Warren - “this is amazing, record of the year so far by a country mile!”

They ALL feel good. Nice release.

edit:

This was posted on March 12 and no replies till today? :conf:

The bad music gets too much space and attention.
Good music doesn't get enough recognition.
