WMC Recession Proof?

Doesn't really need to be discussed but is this the only industry not affected by our fvcked up economy? I know certain dj's aren't attending, but that is the same case every year. I've never seen prices for pool parties hit $90 until now...not judging, just observing. All of the typical clubs are booking and charging whatever they want. Ultra costs a mint to get into. Free parties seemed to have died down.
It seems to me that people, in general, will put their money away for what they really want. By the looks of these boards, clubs and prices..all of us club-goers are doing well enough this year to have a good time...

I will say in my own opinion
Some people save $$$ all month for
*to get the Rock & republic 300dlls jeans
*have a 5 course dinner
*go to vacation
Some of us save the same $$ to enjoy the best event of the year!!!
and for some paying 20-100dlls for a night you will never forget is nothing !!
Last nite i spend 20dlls just to hear Jes sing 4 songs and she give such a great intimate concert I will never forget !!!:gsmile:
Ps Is free partys still goin on BEATPORT @ National is free just check the line up !!
Then again ...You have to feel the djs ,the muzik really get into it to don't think about the future just Live dance and enjoy yourself

| I have talked to quite a few people that aren't going this year because of the economy, I should probably be one of them, haha..... but I think you are partially correct in assuming people will still spend money for a vacation that they really want to go on. Some just have to sacrifice other getaways and stuff. No matter what the economy, though, there will always be a lot of people in Miami for WMC, which means that charging a high price is a way for the clubs to make up for an otherwise down year. It really makes no difference to them. Even if there are a lot less people down there, the major clubs will still pack enough people in to make capacity. Take for example last year's Armada night at Parkwest. I was lucky enough to walk right in just before the lineup started around midnight. From what I hear, a ton of people were unable to get in. So last year let's say 200 people (arbitrary, i know) couldn't get in.... if this year that number is only 50-100, the club still is at capacity and still makes their money plus some because of the higher prices. :whip: |

| I'm staying in a hostel and eating five dollar footlongs. anti-anxiety medication can help reduce your bar tab. its not hard to go hard on a minimal budget, you just have to have priorities. |

There Is a nice decent place where you can eat all u want for 7 dlls somewhere in the 70 st :P

They killing us with the closing clubs @ 4am and no more after hrs @ cafe del mar :(
and if they find you naked on the beach they trow u on jail!!! :stongue:

Ibiza clubs close @ 6am.
Cafe del mar has never been an after hour.
And u can be naked on the beach.... Part of "Las salinas" is full of naked people...and many many small beaches are used by nudist. |
